The return of the Texas A&M-Texas game to Thanksgiving for the first time since 1993 has created a quandary for the Bennett family.
Senior defensive end Michael Bennett will play his last game as an Aggie at 7 p.m. in Austin.
At 3:15 p.m., Martellus Bennett, a former Aggie and current Cowboys rookie tight end, will play in the NFL Turkey Day showcase at Texas Stadium, this year against Seattle.
What's a family to do?
"Borrow a jet or something, I don't know," Michael Bennett said last week. "I think my parents like college Football more than the NFL.
"I just want to beat Texas this year for my senior year."
Martellus Bennett said Sunday he told his family to head to Austin. He also didn't shy from predicting the outcome.
"We always beat Texas," Bennett said. "It wouldn't be an upset. Well, maybe this year it would be. But we expect to beat Texas, the yellowbellies.
"My brother knocked McCoy out a while back, and we call him Cart McCoy now."
As for whether the hit was legal, Martellus said: "Very legal. Colt McCoy, or Cart McCoy, is a pretty good player. But, hopefully, my brother gets some more hits on him."
A&M, of course, is struggling this season. Beating Texas for the third straight year could be the "something special" first-year coach Mike Sherman has been talking to his team about all season. Meanwhile, the BCS No. 2 Horns (10-1, 6-1 Big 12) have plenty to play for as the national title hunt shakes out.
That should be enough to make even lethargic, overfed ESPN viewers tune in to a rivalry that doesn't have as much shine this season because of A&M's 4-7 record.
"No matter how your season pans out, that's obviously a big game for both universities," said Sherman, who was 4-3 against the Horns as an A&M assistant. "Fortunately for A&M, they've been able to do well in that ball game the last couple of years. The players have put a lot into that ball game, as have the coaches, and I assume we will do the same.
"Any time you can beat your No. 1 rival, it's very important."
Bedlam, baby: The latest installment of Oklahoma-Oklahoma State's annual Bedlam game at 7 p.m. Saturday (ESPN) should find Stillwater shaking Boone Pickens Stadium.
The No. 12 Cowboys, enjoying one of their best seasons in recent memory, get a chance to return to the national spotlight and spoil No. 3 OU's hopes for the Big 12 championship and the national title.
OSU hasn't defeated the Sooners, who look overwhelmingly good after their trashing of Texas Tech, since winning, 38-28, at home in 2002. OU's last three wins over the Pokes in Stillwater were by six points or less.
